Crafting an Inclusive Brand Identity for SheHeThey Ltd.
I spearheaded the development of a comprehensive brand identity system for SheHeThey, a company I co-founded that is deeply committed to social impact and inclusivity. This project resonated strongly with my own design philosophy, allowing me to translate SheHeThey’s core values into a visually compelling brand experience.
Here's a breakdown of the key brand decisions:
Naming: "SheHeThey" suggests an inclusive approach and aligns with SheHeThey’s acceptance and celebration of individuals and their unique and collective identities.
Clear Mission: SheHeThey's messaging clearly states the mission to create a positive impact through consumerism, promote underrepresented brands, and champion inclusivity.
Target Audience: The messaging speaks directly to a socially conscious audience who values ethical shopping and supporting minority-owned businesses.
Emotional Connection: The messaging evokes emotions of empowerment, progress, and community by highlighting the positive impact of shopping with SheHeThey.
Uniqueness: The focus on climate consciousness and inclusivity sets SheHeThey apart from mainstream retailers.
Logo: I designed a bold and simple stacked-letter logo to represent SheHeThey's diverse customer base and commitment to inclusivity. Increased tracking ensured readability at all sizes, fostering accessibility for everyone.
Color Palette: A bright, cheerful color scheme utilising primary colors reinforces inclusivity and embodies their optimistic, world-changing mission.
Typography: The typeface selection prioritises readability (Acumin Condensed) and a modern, progressive feel (Roboto family fonts).
Imagery: Curated imagery reflects inclusivity and diversity, featuring people from various backgrounds. This promotes a sense of belonging and connection with the brand.
Shape Language: A dynamic combination of rounded (approachability) and sharp (innovation) shapes creates a visually engaging brand experience that aligns with SheHeThey's values.
